Chris Warne is the principal physiotherapist and founder of Lake Gwelup Physiotherapy and brings more than a decade of private practice experience to the clinic, much of it dedicated to supporting the Gwelup community and Perth’s northern suburbs. He holds a Master of Physiotherapy from Curtin University and a Bachelor of Science (Anatomical Sciences) from the University of Western Australia and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Chris is an active member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA), including the Musculoskeletal, Sports & Exercise and Aquatic Physiotherapy groups.
Chris has undertaken extensive post-graduate professional development through APA-approved and evidence-based courses to continually refine his clinical skills and maintain current knowledge. His additional training includes dry needling, management of TMJ and jaw pain, vertigo and vestibular rehabilitation, sports injury rehabilitation, hydrotherapy and aquatic physiotherapy, balance and falls prevention, and physiotherapy management of orthopaedic and post-operative conditions. He regularly attends professional development courses and training to ensure his treatment approaches remain up to date and grounded in contemporary physiotherapy practice.
Earlier in his career, Chris spent time teaching human anatomy in the University of Western Australia wet labs, developing a strong foundation in anatomy and biomechanics that continues to inform his clinical reasoning and treatment planning today. He has also worked with a number of local sporting teams across Perth’s northern suburbs, including AFL, soccer and cricket clubs, giving him practical experience in sports injury management, rehabilitation and return-to-activity planning for athletes and active individuals.
Chris has more than ten years’ experience delivering physiotherapist-guided hydrotherapy and exercise rehabilitation programs across multiple pools in Perth’s northern suburbs, particularly for post-operative patients following total knee and hip replacement surgery. He continues to incorporate both land-based and aquatic rehabilitation into comprehensive treatment plans where appropriate.
Known for his thorough assessments and clear communication style, Chris takes pride in providing easy-to-understand explanations of injuries and treatment options, so patients feel informed and confident throughout their recovery. He regularly assists with back and neck pain, headaches, sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, vestibular conditions such as vertigo, and complex musculoskeletal presentations.
For most of his career Chris has been based in Gwelup, supporting patients from Gwelup, Karrinyup, Stirling, Carine, Innaloo, Balcatta and surrounding suburbs. He values building long-term relationships with patients and local healthcare providers and aims to deliver honest, practical and evidence-informed physiotherapy in a professional and supportive environment.
