NDIS Physiotherapy – FAQs

A: NDIS physiotherapy is allied health support funded through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to help with mobility, strength, balance, pain management and independence.

A: To be eligible, you must be an NDIS participant with physiotherapy included in your plan goals, either as core supports or capacity building supports, and approved by your planner or Local Area Coordinator. While Lake Gwelup Physiotherapy is not registered for NDIA-managed clients, we warmly welcome all self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.

A: NDIS physiotherapy may include clinical assessment, goal-based exercise programs, functional mobility training, falls prevention, hydrotherapy, home visit support and equipment recommendations where clinically appropriate.

A: Yes — we provide NDIS physiotherapy in clinic, at home, and in community settings when appropriate to your goals, safety and plan supports.

A: Session duration varies depending on your needs and plan funding but typically ranges from 30–60 minutes, tailored to your goals and functional requirements.

A: Your NDIS plan must include physiotherapy supports. Once you have approved funding, we can work with your plan manager, support coordinator or self-managed plan to deliver and claim physiotherapy services.

A: No — referrals are not required for physiotherapy under NDIS funding. However, if you are accessing other subsidised services (e.g., Medicare CDM/EPC), a GP referral may be required for those specific pathways.
